Dear Partners, Dear Members and Dear Friends,

On the occasion of the UNFCCC COP 23 (6-17 November 2017) organized in Bonn, the "4 per 1000 Initiative: Soils for Food Security and Climate" organizes, with the support of the German Food and Agriculture Ministry (BMEL) and the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE), the "4 by 1000 Initiative Day" on 16 November 2017.

This day will be held one year almost day per day after the first meeting of the Consortium of Members of the Initiative as well as the meeting of the Forum of Partners and the Scientific and Technical Committee, which were organized in Marrakech in the margins of the COP 22, and almost 2 years after the creation of the Initiative during the COP 21 in Paris.

The meeting will be hosted at the  Stadhalle of Bad Godesberg, in the suburbs of Bonn. It will be divided into several parts:

• The morning, with an introductory section bringing together personalities on a particular theme and the 2nd Forum of Partners with plenary sessions and working groups, will be open to Members, Partners and “Friend Organizations” of the Initiative who would like to join the Initiative but are still hesitant;

• Lunch;

• The afternoon will be dedicated to the 3rd meeting of the Consortium, reserved only to Members. 

The meeting will end by a cocktail party where Members, Partners and Friends are welcome.

Throughout the day, a posters session, consecutive to the one held in Montpellier during the Consortium n ° 2 in June, will be organized in the same venue.

A more detailed agenda will soon be posted on this website, as well as all preparatory documents. The conference will be in English and French. The Scientific and Technical Committee will hold its 4th meeting in the Bonn region on 14 and 15 November in order to be able to report to the Forum and the Consortium.

To participate to this day, whatever your status, registration is compulsory. Online registrations will be approved by the secretariat before confirmation and closed on Nov.15, midday.
